Q&A: Is there a Sony plug-in or codec for .mkv files?

download codecQuestion : Is there a Sony Vegas plug-in or codec for .mkv files?┬áIf there isn’t a plug-in of codec for thiswhat should i convert the video to so i dont loose any quality?

Best answer:

Firstly you need to convert the file with a converter. You need to install MediaCoder on your computer which you are using and then you need adjust the settings. This is done as you need to specify that you want an .mp4 video output. You can us the h264/avc for video and AAC (LC-AAC) for audio. You can use the Nero Encoder for this. Now click on the the video tab just put “Copy Video”. Once this is done the video it creates is an mp4 but there is some loss with the audio.
