Question : Why can’t I play a .avi file on WIndows Media but I can through Divx? I downloaded a movie and it’s a .avi file. NOTHING will play it other than my Divx player. I want to be able to play it on my TV through my XBOX 360 but I need it to work on Windows Media Player first in order to do that.
I’ve attempting converting it but it won’t convert either. Oh yeah, and I downloaded the K-Lite codecs…still nothing. I really ask help with this…
Best answer:
Upgrade your Media Player to Version 11. What you can also do is look at what is short with your codecs. Dont install Codec Lite on your computer as it tends to make the problem worst. What you should do is check which codec the video needs, then search for that codec, install it and see if it plays. Should it not play then there is a bigger problem as the file would be damaged. VLC tends to play even incomplete files so it that did not work its a tough call.
